"Sadie had her first rated show in April. The week before, she threw a shoe on the trail. I called Anvil at 7 PM on a Thursday. By 9 AM Friday, she was shod and calm, and my daughter cried happy tears at the ribbon ceremony. I don't use the word trust lightly with horses."

"We run thirty-four head of quarter horses on twelve hundred acres. I need a farrier who shows up when he says he will, doesn't spook the young ones, and doesn't charge me for the drive. Anvil does all three. Called him at midnight once when a stallion got caught in wire. He was here at first light."

"My mare Copper has navicular concerns. Every farrier I tried before Anvil either didn't know enough or didn't care enough. These folks know corrective shoeing the way a good doctor knows medicine — they explain what they're doing and why. My vet calls them first when she needs a farrier recommendation."

How can we help your herd?
Every horse. Every need.
Three ways to get Anvil out to your barn — pick what fits your situation.
Meet the Family
Three generations in the forge.
My grandfather started this work in 1971, driving a single-axle truck through the Texas panhandle with a coal forge in the bed and a dog riding shotgun. My father learned at his knee. I learned at both of theirs. Anvil isn't a brand — it's the name we gave our family's promise to the horses.
Every horse we shoe gets the same attention whether it's a prize-winning dressage mare or a trail horse who's never left the county. The hoof doesn't know the difference between a ribbon and a fence line — and neither do we.
